ROLES for optimized orientation of cores:
PATHOLOGISTS:
- Proposes and sets up for comprehensive histo-interpretation.
- Provides pro-active leadership toward the comprehensiveness
of interpretation
- which is useful & possible.
UROLOGIST:
- Accepts proposal for comprehensiveness (there is no extra work
for urologist).
- Employs sextant [or greater] approach of systematically spaced
biopsy sampling of prostate gland (6 or more biopsy cores).
ULTRASOUND TECH:
- Transfers cores to "blot paper" (blot paper is by far the
quickest way to remove the core from the biopsy needle).
