Glycosylated hemoglobin, blood |
| Hyperglycemia which is chronic and prolonged leads to accelerated
glycation of proteins. Since the hemoglobin protein stays in circulation
so long, determination of levels of the major form of glycated
hemoglobin, Hb A1c can aid in assessing the quality of diabetic
glucose control which has been maintained during the prior two months.
We performed a validation study, June 2001, of the DCA 2000 instrument
and found excellent validation. |
