HLA B-27 antigen

This is a human blood leukocyte antigen (WBCs) which has a prevalence of 9% in Caucasians and 4% of blacks¹.

Patient's WBCs Contain the Antigen:

• some normals, see above¹
• present in 90% of those with ankylosing spondylitis¹
• present in 80% of those with Reiter's disease¹
